WHEN GOODNESS COUNTS

Environmental ScaleSometimes I cannot understand how an investigation can result in nothing to be done but rather a step towards an action that will have a futuristic effect.

If one is working on objects or material things and defects are found out by the investigating team, then people can be sure that there would adjustments, possibly policies that would have to be set up so that future occurrence of malfunctions would be prevented.

If one is working on a painting and commits an error, the painter will just have to erase it with a white paint or whatever color and then paint over it. That is passable.

But if one is working on a social issue, I think it is difficult to consider people involved as things to be manipulated and be made to believe that in the future the misbehavior shall not happen again.

I think that in the family, that is passable. When a member of the family commits an error, then the parents lay down punishments, or suspend them and then warn the child that a consequential move shall be cause for withdrawal of certain benefits like being able to go to the movies three times a week.

However, if we are dealing with big events, where a whole society is involved, then one mistake cannot be allowed to just fade away after an investigation. The results of such an investigation must clearly point out where the fault lay, who caused the fault, who are the harmed individuals or sectors, and then a punishment or whatever penalty can be imposed.

Now in the case of the US elections, investigations are being made with regard to the hacking and all the intelligence agencies are united in saying that there was hacking to make the election results favorable to the electoral college's choice.

If there was hacking, then there was wrongdoing. If there was wrongdoing, then there was a wrong choice for a president. If there was a wrong choice for a president, then the time has come for the people, and the whole world to stand together and point out that the succeeding individual as president should not be recognized at all because his election  containes questionable grounds.
All these sound like a product of the imagination. But solutions need to go out of the box in order for everything to get into the proper scheme of things. Otherwise, everyone is just beating around the bush all the time and the hackers are having the time of their life, belly-laughing how they have muddled the society, and by putting up the wrong choice, they now have half of their foot into the power circle for them to confuse, to twist, to muddle and to cripple according to how they wish it to act. PATHETIC, isn't it?

Let us not be afraid of being good, to ourselves and to others. Goodness will bear fruit for many generations to come. A soul-searching is in order.
