SOME WAYS ON HOW TO PRESERVE LIFE IN THE PHILIPPINES

Nowadays, it is so difficult for me to write on Philippine issues because the hackers and harassers are just close by. But I would like to contribute to some subjects that are lingering in our midst. It is a way of helping to preserve the Filipino people's lives.

On the killings in the streets -- whether by criminals or by tokhang -- let us have a million signatures to stop them

On the SSS pension -- SSS is owned by the Filipino people. The people deserve to know what is going on in its operations. What are the investments of SSS? How many were successful and how much as against the unsuccessful ones? We need to get a clear picture of this agency before accepting the increase in contributions. They should already increase the pensions of the senior citizens. If the SSS officials could pay themselves huge sums why are they very stingy when giving back to the people what they deserve? Senior citizens have only a fews more years on this planet so they deserve a grand life after having sacrificed a lot during their younger years.

On Pag-ibig contributions -- I think the agency should be looked at as a partner of the Filipino people in putting up homes. It should not fashion itself as a bank that charges interests and more for defaults. Rather, it should view itself as a helper, an aide to the people's search for a decent shelter. In fact, I view Pag-ibig as a kind of mother who needs to warm her children wrapping them around her arms in times of cold seasons.

That is what shelter means, isn't it?

On Federalism -- I have sent the powerpoint on Federalism to my email groups. I hope they would look at it and see whether they could accept or not the new system for governing our country.

On typhoons -- when typhoons are coming, I wish our inventors could discover a huge blanker over the ricefields and cornfields, or even plantations so that they would not be ravaged totally. And for those floodings, I hope they could also discover a kind of platform to be embedded underneath the soil, so that once the flooding starts, the platform could raise the ricefields up and save the grains from being swallowed up by the waters.

On some officials' filthy mouths that spew gutter language -- I would suggest chili to be eaten raw every time a break of the rules is committed. They should make baon in their pockets so that they would discipline their mouths.

On the loud videokes at barangays -- I suggest Secretary Regina Lopez to ask her people to monitor them and come up with a memorandum on how low or how loud a public address system or videoke should be in the barangay and to suggest to the constitutents to have a box in the DILG where they can report officials who do not observe those standards.

On construction companies who do not bother to restore the neighboring houses fences after their work had destroyed them -- I would suggest that the Construction Organization ban the companies and write the DILG to stop them from operating, until and unless they are able to reconstruct what they have destroyed.

Enough na. Happy New Year Folks. Let us keep our senses sharp and clear about corrupt and vote-grabbing officials.
