VULNERABLE STATE

What makes the State very vulnerable to sabotage, as what shows in the erroneous release of convicted prisoners for heinous crimes? It is the lack of daily or weekly reminders to government people of the need for a moral attention to their jobs.

Instead, the State leaves it to the individual or their superior to steer them to what is a proper commitment to their jobs. Actually, the only time they could be reminded of their sworn duties is when they sing the national anthem or their superiors, sometimes, constantly harp on their responsibilities as public servants.

Rather the individual public servant is left to his or her own resources to follow the dictates of  conscience.

A strong feature in government offices however is the altar where the employees could attend Christian masses and listen to sermons most of which are just fundamental repetitions or interpretations of the Bible, having no reference at all to the need for honest governance in office. Or maybe the sermons are couched in a symbolic language taking potshots at corrupt leaders.

I think the Civil Service Commission and the National Police Commission have to go beyond mere mouthpieces of laws  but rather must constantly provide ethical directions to government employees in very creative ways.

Also a box should be provided in public for people to submit their complaints if they wish to remain anonymous.

Lastly, as the Church of all denominations require their flock to attend worship hours, every week, then the priest or pastor or imam must always remind the people the need to be vigilant and to serve the people well.
