ON PONDERING IMMORTALITY

Perhaps the United Nations could ask its member-countries to create places where everyone could congregate as one people, regardless of religion, a kind of ECUMENICAL CENTER.

This Center shall be open to everyone, even the Muslims because we want to make everyone feel human, feel sensitive to each other's cultural diversity yet open to being friends with each other.

This Center could be placed even inside the Arabic countries especially where exclusivity is highly prevalent.

In fact, when I saw the picture of that bomber of a sidewalk in New York City, shouting Alahu Akbar, I thought why that guy would have a hard time shedding off his violent tendencies. He had already been shot, terribly wounded, and incarcerated, yet he was still very stubborn.

I thought there and then why, this guy should be isolated in a room where he could only see pictures and videos of Nature, of animals and flowers. The sight of humans should be detached from him. He should not be allowed to interact with anyone. And then maybe after 6 months slowly the sight of humans would be revealed to him, a fetus, a baby, a toddler, until the adult figures.

In this manner, maybe his mind and soul could be stirred into asking, what am I doing in this world, why am I here, what should I do with my life?

I think this is the same thing that should be done to drug addicts. No amount of medicines will cure this people unless they regain their humanity again.

Just a thought after All Souls Day. Immortality is a difficult subject. Ahh, life.
