Elsa Bayani asks these questions to Among Ed Panlilio of Pampanga and other contenders for the Philippine presidency:
1. What are the issues, he (Among Ed) would stand for?
2. What are the needs of constituents (Filipinos nationwide or just Kapampangans) that he can capably meet?
3. Right now, every aspirant candidate wants to replace the particular incumbents of the public office he's/she's running for election - why think of the incumbent? Why not think of what the constituents need regardless of who this incumbent is?
My example here is Senator Chiz Escudero - he wants to run for President and if he wins, he will audit (or whatever that term is) Gloria Arroyo and make Arroyo account for the money/s of govt that she squandered for personal aggrandizement. My question is - WHAT IS HIS ISSUE (I mean Senator Escudero)to aspire for the highest office?
4. What importance are their credentials? What they have done and what they hope to do. Either one, did not make a difference to this country. The Philippines is still mired in the mud of poverty, unemployment, etc.
I've met the Governor personally - gave him a bunch of letters (support from people) emailed to me. He is a man of principles. But principles do not matter in Philippine elections - they are merely smokescreens. The voters do not understand the reasons for voting except to confirm - their promise to vote for the candidate based on the promise of the candidate to do for them. Both are co-dependents of DECEPTION in the highest order. It has become the way of elections.
