Do we observe political ethics?

The field of political ethics examines three specific areas: 1.) Church-state relations, 2.) responsibilities of the state towards its people, and 3.) the responsibility of the people towards their state.

The above statement is taken from the internet. It is meant to generate discussions on ethical behavior in politics. Everyone is invited to comment. What is the role of the church in politics? What are the responsibilities of the state to the people? How should Church and State act together to improve the people's lives? What are the duties of every citizen in making the State function according to their needs and welfare? Thank you.
